According to a report from the BBC on Monday, the tech giant acknowledged an issue with the console’s disc drive after some device owners reported loud noises and in some instances, the inability for Xbox One’s drive to even read discs.
“We’re working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange programme,” stated Microsoft, the BBC‘s report noted.
There is, however, good news. Only a small number of devices were supposedly affected.
The Xbox One was released on Friday – a launch that will see the console doing battle with Sony’s rival PlayStation 4 this holiday season.
Microsoft said last week that the Xbox One had already generated over one million in sales in its first 24 hours of retail availability, according to Bloomberg.
