Drupal is an Open Source Content Management System designed for power and flexibility and remains one of the safest developmental platforms in the industry. Drupal enables companies to embrace communities and to harness the power of the social Web to deliver real business value.  Businesses can use Drupal to efficiently and cost effectively build customized Web sites and connect with communities using the internet.

The Southwest Drupal Summit will bring together Drupal experts, beginners, and business leaders to share success stories, investigate new opportunities, and gain insight on the prominent enterprise-level Web application platform.

Rohit Anabheri, co-chair of the summit, says, “hearing from real-world business people – the why, the what, the how of Drupal, lessons learned and best practices for large-scale Drupal deployments, including training and support, are major takeaways from the event.”

The Summit features an impeccable lineup of speakers providing attendees the opportunity to hear from Drupal experts in areas of development, design, and business strategy.  The event organizers are pleased to announce the keynote address will be delivered by the Drupal 7 core maintainer and the recipient of the 2008 Google Open Source Award for Best Contributor, Angela Byron.  Other notable experts to speak include: Narayan Newton, the scalability expert behind; Kyle Rankin, author of The Official Ubuntu Server Book and Knoppix Hacks; James Walker of; Liza Kindred from Lullabot; and Jason Burnett, the Director of Network Services for NeoSpire Managed Hosting.
After learning innovative techniques, acquiring new skills, honing best practices, and discovering superlative implementation strategies, Drupal users and developers can expect to walk away from the weekend with cutting-edge knowledge for building solid Web sites and applications.
