(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Sprint is enhancing its voice and messaging services by launching Wi-Fi Calling to its customers.
Announced on Friday, the free service lets users use voice and messaging services over Wi-Fi networks, which will expand Sprint’s mobile coverage to areas with little to no network coverage.
“It’s not uncommon for customers to experience mobile network coverage issues within their home, apartment or office due to building materials interfering with the Sprint network,” states Sprint’s blog. “For customers that travel outside of Sprint’s coverage or experience poor coverage in their home or office, Wi-Fi Calling is a solution that addresses these issues.”
This service offers numerous benefits to the mobile company’s customers, including easy setup, improved network coverage, and unlimited voice calling and messaging via Wi-Fi.
Samsung Galaxy Mega and S4 Mini users will be the first to experience this new service, with the update arriving over the next few weeks.
Expect the Wi-Fi Calling service to expand to other devices throughout the year.
