(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – State of Decay developer Undead Labs on Monday made some clarifications regarding the upcoming PC version of the zombie title – noting a controller-only release of the game would be launched through Steam Early Access for twenty dollars.
The company also noted a quick timeline to expand past controller-only compatibility.
“As soon as we possibly can, we will patch the game with our first, rough take on a keyboard/mouse interface. We will be actively seeking feedback from hardcore early adopters in order to refine that interface,” stated Undead Labs through a post.
Undead Labs also described Early Access as “strictly for people who enjoy shaping outcomes and giving feedback, and don’t mind bugs.”
Meanwhile, a final PC version of State of Decay will support both keyboard/mouse controls in addition to compatibility with the Xbox 360 controller.
It’s currently unknown when Early Access via Steam will launch; however, Undead Labs noted it’d make the decision sometime this week. State of Decay has been a top seller since launched on Xbox Live Arcade in June, pushing sales similar in strength to Minecraft.
