(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Apple has announced that Steve Jobs has been granted by the board to take a medical leave to focus on health concerns.
According to Reuters, Jobs announced in a letter, “At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.”
During his leave of absence, Apple COO, Tim Cook will take over most of Jobs’ responsibilities. However, Jobs will still remain involved in major company decisions.
Although it was not announced how long Jobs would be out, Jobs did say in a statement that he hopes to be back as soon as possible.
