Super Smash Bros. Director Hints At New Playable Character (Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Super Smash Bros. gaming director Masahiro Sakurai has hinted on Miiverse that the Wii U version of the game could be receiving a new playable character.

During the “Pic of the day,” Sakurai released a photo of a character blurred out with the following caption:

“Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes in one of the secret fighter’s shooting moves. The object being held is called an NES Zapper. This is an accessory which was released for the NES outside of Japan. Now, this image is edited, but it’s a scene form the secret fighter’s revel video.”
