Super Smash Bros. Wii U To Receive Pre-Loading Functionality Next Month

Super Smash Bros. Wii U To Receive Pre-Loading Functionality Next Month(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Nintendo has announced that the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. will get a pre-loading functionality, a feature that will be available next month during the release of the game.

“The ‘pre-download’ system is a system in which consumers who have purchased the game before its release can download most of the game content in advance,” said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. “Using this system, consumers will not have to wait for long time to download the game after its release. They will then be able to start playing the game by only downloading a requisite minimum amount of update data.”

Pre-loading can be purchased online through download cards at stores or through retailers. A code will need to be entered to Nintendo eShop beforehand, Polygon reports.

Iwata noted that this will be available for the Wii U first, followed by the 3DS sometime in 2015.
