(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Tomorrow, Apple may get all the intention when it’s expected to debut a new iPhone. However, Microsoft isn’t letting the Cupertino tech giant steal all the limelight. The Windows-maker has plans of its own and is expected to debut a Surface 2 tablet on September 23rd at an event in New York City, according to a report from The Verge.
The online tech publication cited “sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans” when making the news.
The new tablets are expected to keep Surface’s familiar design but the Surface Pro will be upgraded to utilize an Intel Haswell processor. Units will also ship with 8GB RAM. Meanwhile, the Surface 2 will likely carry a Nvidia Tegra 4 processor in addition to a 1080p display. Battery life is also said to be around 8 hours long.
Recently, through advertising, Microsoft has pushed its Surface tablets to compete with iPad offerings from competitor Apple.
