(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Tech giant Microsoft on Saturday expanded its tablet offerings, releasing the Surface Pro amid what it described as “great” demand, according to an ABC News report.

Microsoft has also insisted the product is “perfect for customers and businesses looking for the power and performance of a PC in a tablet package.”

But despite positive talk, the device’s price tag begins at a staggering $899 for a 64GB version while a 128GB release accounts for $999. The Surface Pro has also received criticism regarding its thickness and how long its battery lasts.

The Surface notably features a kickstand and a case that multitasks as a rollout keyboard – signifying the device’s easy transition into more of a laptop-type computer.

The first Microsoft tablet, the Surface RT, has received sales of around 1 million units, according to ABC News which cited analyst estimates.
