(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Wouldn’t it be nice is customers didn’t have to wait forever to be connected to a customer support representative when they needed help with their devices or if it could be simply done by just pressing one button?
The Kindle Fire HDX does just that. It’s called the Mayday button and it connects customers to a live Amazon tech support rep within seconds.
“With a single tap, an Amazon expert will appear on your Fire HDX and can co-pilot you through any feature by drawing on your screen, walking you through how to do something yourself, or doing it for you-whatever works best. Mayday is available 24×7, 365 days a year, and it’s free,” states Amazon CEO and Founder, Jeff Bezos.
Once the session has started, a rep will appear on your screen and assist you with any help needed. The rep won’t be able to see you because only audio is transmitted back, which makes it much more convenient.
