(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – It appears that Apple’s top lawyer for patent issues is headed out the door. According to a report from Reuters, Chief Patent Counsel Richard Lutton is expected to leave the company.
The possible news occurs at a time when the company is busy dealing with a handful of lawsuits related to smartphone patents.
Despite the possible move, Reuters reports that someone else may already be on board. Apparently BJ Watroub, formerly of HP has himself listed on LinkedIn as occupying the new position.
One of the company’s high profile fights includes the one against Android maker HTC. Meanwhile, Apple in partnership with other companies recently outbid Google for Nortel’s patents related to digital and wireless communication.
