Transitioning: iWeb Moves Shared Hosting to Funio

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Web host and domain provider iWeb will no longer offer domain registration and shared hosting services directly through its site. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the web host is giving up on the important hosting service.

Just recently iWeb announced that it will be transitioning such activities to a new website, called

“I firmly believe that shared hosting must benefit from all the attention of a team of professionals exclusively dedicated to the development of the product,” stated Eric Chouinard, the company’s president and chief officer in a press release.

He continued, “Funio will seize this opportunity to innovate and add value to the products as well as the tools that enable their delivery.”

Meanwhile, iWeb says that Funio is expected to run independently by sometime early next year. Until then, iWeb are Funio are working together.
