(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Windows web hosting was center stage as cPanel’s 2011 Automation Bootcamp kicked off its first full day in Austin, Texas. Ping! Zine was on hand for all the techy fun.
cPanel announced that Enkompass (the company’s windows web hosting control panel) will be offered free, a welcome sign to both web hosts and end-users.
One of the day’s biggest presentations came with SoftLayer Chief Scientist Nathan Day’s speech titled, “How to build a billion dollar company with a small team and a few years.” Along with talking about company creation, Day specifically discussed setting sales goals while paying attention to finances (Definitely an important aspect of running a business).
Other events being held included a talk on Cloud Linux conversion by A Small Orange’s Jen Lepp and an introduction of OnApp’s content delivery network (CDN). Meanwhile, Tuesday night was scheduled to close with a speech titled “Saving the Hosting Industry” by ServInt’s Christian Dawson. The talk covers recent federal events that could have an impact on the hosting community.
Tuesday night at the event also brings one of the best aspects of conventions: networking. Among the festivities is a party hosted by cPanel.
The techy fun continues tomorrow. Ping! Zine will again be on hand, discussing the latest, most fascinating happenings from this year’s cPanel Automation Bootcamp (Make sure to visit Ping! Zine’s Facebook page for the most up to date information from the event: http://www.facebook.com/PingZine).
