According to CNN, Team USA has had the most involved fans on mobile apps and the Cup’s websites, totaling to over 35 million users.
These statistics come from its daily views on its official website and Facebook page, along with the amount of mobile app downloads.
Additionally, the Football Association noted that when the U.S. men’s team played, fans spent a total of 847 years and 143 days involved in World Cup content. That’s 11.2% of the U.S’s population and more than all of Brazils, Germany, England, and France’s fans.
The top ten states that viewed the most FIFA material was, in order, California, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, Washington, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
The 2014 World Cup is expected to be the biggest Internet/ social media event ever, with more than 459 million Facebook posts and comments in the first week of the event.
