(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Game developer Ubisoft on Tuesday admitted that it had been hacked.
In an incident, an attacker gained unauthorized access to online systems maintained by the company.
“We instantly took steps to close off this access, to begin a thorough investigation with relevant authorities, internal and external security experts, and to start restoring the integrity of any compromised systems,” explained the publisher via a post on its forums.
Data accessed pertained to user names, encrypted passwords along with email addresses.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft has recommend users change their passwords. The France-based game publisher is popular for its Assassin’s Creed video game series.
