UK Police Arrest “Anonymous” DDoS Suspects

(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – This morning UK police arrested five men on suspicion of acting in recent denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks that were launched by the WikiLeaks defense group, Anonymous.

The young men range in age from 15 to 26 years old and were taken into custody by their respective local police department.

The men are accused of partaking in numerous DDos attacks over the past year. The men attempted to overload servers by using a tool called Low Orbit Ion Cannon, according to cnet. Websites that were affected by the group included companies such as Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal. The attacks came after the company’s suspended WikiLeaks ability to process donations.
