(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Verizon Wireless previously cut ties with unlimited data plans last year, in place of it opting for “share everything” options.
In an investor conference, company CEO Lowell McAdam explained his philosophy regarding unlimited, suggesting that such plans are unsustainable.
“With unlimited, it’s the physics that breaks it,” McAdam said, according to a CNET report. “If you allow unlimited usage, you just run out of gas.”
McAdam further explained his comments by saying videos that use a lot of bandwidth will make it hard for carriers to continue with unlimited.
While other wireless providers have moved to shared tiered models, carrier Sprint is one of those left still providing unlimited data plans.
