(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Verizon will be launching a new voice calling feature to customer within the next few months, announced the mobile carrier on Tuesday.
According to a press release from Verizon, the new service, VoLTE or Voice over LTE, will enable users to make high quality phone calls over LTE networks.
“The company will have a robust line-up of VoLTE-enabled smartphones available when the service launches. And, more and more customers across the country will be able to use VoLTE as select handsets will be VoLTE-enabled through a software update leading up to the roll out of the service, with new devices VoLTE-enabled at the time of purchase later this year,” says the company.
Additionally, VoLTE will introduce a video calling service that allows users to make and receive video calls directly from contacts in their phone, with the option of calling users the traditional way or by “voice and video.”
