(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – How does Halo on your phone sound as an incentive for buying a Windows 8 device? Well, Microsoft is hoping it’s enough to entice you.
The company is starting out by making Halo: Spartan Assault available first through wireless carrier Verizon in the U.S. market.
The highly anticipated third-person shooter lets users assume the role of either Spartan Davis or Commander Sarah Palmer as they take on an alien threat.
“Smartphones have opened the doors to possibilities that gamers have dreamt about, playing their favorite franchises on a phone. Mobile devices and app stores have also made it easy for non-gamers to access and experience games they may not have thought they wanted to play,” commented Verizon’s Albert Aydin via the Wireless blog.
The game is expected to arrive soon in the Windows Phone App Store for the price of $6.99. Compatible phones include the Nokia Lumia 928, Nokia Lumia 822, the Samsung ATIV Odyssey and the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
