(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – It’s no secret that tech giant Microsoft has been looking to increase its presence is the area of online services, whether it was through the company’s recent acquisition of Skype or whether it was by rebranding its online search engine as Bing in 2009.
On Wednesday, Microsoft was able to make another push to increasing its online presence, albeit perhaps not as large.
Search engine company Mozilla has launched Firefox with Bing, a version of the popular web browser that integrates Microsoft’s Bing as the browser’s default search engine and homepage.
While the announcement may be new, Mozilla initially included Bing as a generalized search option in Firefox around a year ago.
Microsoft attempted to buy search engine Yahoo! in 2008 for more than 44 billion. Although the deal never went through, Bing currently powers Yahoo’s search engine service.
