(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple users are increasingly looking for new ways to unlock their iPhones as iOS receives the latest software updates. As we previously noted, version 6.1.3 killed the popular evasi0n jailbreak – with it, dashing the unlock dreams of many open source fans.
That being said, the internet has been swamped with rumors regarding a new jailbreak for recently launched version 6.1.3. Here’s what we know so far:
–evad3rs is holding off for something larger: The jailbreak developer known for creating the evasi0n jailbreak has no plans to make one for the latest release of iOS; it’s waiting for Apple to release something bigger. “We are not working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak, that would be too much efforts for a minimal update. We’re waiting for a major release,” commented pod2g of evad3rs when asked about the issue via Twitter. Instead, the jailbreak could arrive for 7.0.
–Beware of iOS Jailbreak Scams: As far as we know, there’s currently no true way to jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 devices. That being said, scammers are looking to seize the moment, trying to get users to pay online via credit card for fake jailbreaks claiming they work with version 6.1.3. We’d highly recommend being wary of those claiming to have an actual fix.
