(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Four top web hosting providers faced major headaches late last week after an issue occurred at a data center in Provo, Utah.
According to a report from Mashable, the companies included HostMonster, Bluehost, Hostgator and JustHot, all subsidiary providers of Endurance International.
“The problem occurred during routine server maintenance when a hardware failure quickly cascaded throughout the network. Our customer service teams, technicians, and engineers responded immediately. Throughout the day we attempted to publicly communicate as openly and frequently as possible,” explained Endurance COO Ron LaSalvia via a statement appearing on Enduranceresponse.com
By sometime Saturday, the problem had stabilized and services for all four providers appeared to be restored. Meanwhile, Endurance has noted the incident is “still under review.” More post mortem info could be forthcoming.
