(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Wikipedia is adding an option called “WikiLove” to help editors feel more appreciated, the site recently announced. The new features provides users with an easier way to compliment editors’ work.
In a posting on the site’s official blog, Wikipedia cited a recent survey that revealed that positive feedback makes editors want to edit more.
The site’s article creations and edits are done voluntarily by general internet users.
In the blog post, Wikipedia states, “WikiLove is a simple experiment in appreciation. It makes it easy and fun to send barnstars or whimsical messages of appreciation to other users.”
Meanwhile, Wikipedia is asking for help with testing the new feature. To view Wikipedia’s entire post on the matter, visit: http://blog.wikimedia.org/2011/06/24/wikilove-an-experiment-in-appreciation/
