(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – If you’re a Twitter enthusiast and also happen to be a Windows 8 user, there’s good news: Microsoft on Wednesday announced integration of the popular social network into its latest OS.
“Today, we are releasing Twitter for Windows 8, a new app that makes it easier than ever to share and discover content on Windows 8 devices. In addition to familiar Twitter features, including the Home, Connect, Discover, and Me tabs, this app introduces new functionality that takes advantage of unique Windows 8 features,” stated Microsoft via a blog post.
In the mix are a number of features and capabilities. One called “snap view” allows the user to snap Twitter to the left or right of their respective screens along with adjusting the app’s size.
Horizontal swiping allows users to view larger photos. Meanwhile, a “share charm” provides the ability to swipe and share content from applications as a “search charm” provides search functionality.
Twitter updates are also provided with Live Tiles. Watch a preview of the app below:
