(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Today is a big day for Minecraft fans, as the game has finally launched on Windows Phone 8.1.
This version comes with all the same features as the Android and iOS versions, survival and creative modes, as well as multiplayer gameplay over Wi-Fi network, says Microsoft via Xbox Wire.
The game was first announced for Windows Phone in early October, where Mojang’s lead developer Jens Bergensten confirmed the news on Twitter.
He also noted that the Microsoft editon was already being worked on before the company purchased Mojang in September for $2.5 billion.
To date the PE version has sold more than 21 million copies, with the PC and Mac versions surpassing 16 million.
Windows Phone users can purchase the game for $6.99 on the Microsoft Store.
