WWDC 2013 Could Showcase New MacBooks

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Upcoming versions of iOS and OS X probably won’t be the only new things to highlight Apple’s upcoming WWDC conference in June.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo fully expects Apple’s MacBook Pro line to stay current with an optical drive – despite the Cupertino company cutting down on such an inclusion in recent MacBook launches.

“There is still demand in emerging markets, where Internet penetration isn’t advanced, for optical disk drives,” Kuo stated, according to Apple Insider.

Last year’s Worldwide Developers Conference was highly notable for Apple’s debut of a MacBook Pro with Retina support – something that didn’t contain an optical drive with its slimmed down design.

The event will be held this year in San Francisco from June 10-14.
