(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – After nearly seven years, a new generation of console devices are in the making. Yesterday, Sony vaguely detailed plans to release the PlayStation 4 during the holiday season of 2013 – but news regarding the Xbox 360’s successor also made headlines.
According to a report from vgleaks.com, specs for the Xbox 720’s (no official naming just yet…) version of Kinect were leaked.
The upcoming Xbox is codenamed “Durango” and the Kinect sensor device could feature what’s described as an “improved field of view results,” allowing users to play in larger areas. The new sensor is projected to provide for 70 degrees horizontal times 60 degrees vertical.
Other specs include USB 3.0 along with a “4-mic array returning 48K Hz audio.”
Meanwhile, a separate report from The Escapist noted Thursday that police had raided the home of someone suspected in attempting a sale of a Durango dev kit via bidding website eBay. The seller acknowledge the problem through Twitter, simply stating, “Police raided me.”
