Xbox One Major Update and New Features Coming This October

Xbox One August Update To Add 3D Blu-ray, Mobile Purchasing, and More(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Xbox One users are undoubtedly excited about the recent announcement that Xbox One will get a major update, reportedly this October.

Many users have claimed the Xbox One has felt like a work in progress since the consoles inception last fall. However, Xbox plans to add features and functionality that will outshine its competition, and even bring back some familiar features from the Xbox 360.

Once the patch is released, users will be able to double-tap the Guide button on the controller, which will bring up a menu for your friends list, achievements and messages. This was a popular function that was available on the Xbox 360, but did not reappear for the Xbox One release.

The update reportedly will make recording video minus the Kinect voice controls simplier by allowing users to save the final 30 seconds of a games video by double-tapping the Guide button and hitting the X button.

Xbox One is said to also be issuing a first for consoles, by adding DLNA support for strwaming videos from your computer to the console.
