(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – The second, and “most significant”, Xbox One update has officially been released, bringing a number of improvements to the console to prepare for the release of Titanfall.
The March update improves the friends list feature so that users can easily access their list on the homepage of the Friends app. Users can say “Xbox, go to Friends” and you will be able to see whose online and easily send them messages.
Party chat audio is now turned on by default and is separated from those playing your game so that you can chat with others online playing different games.
Users playing in multiplayer will now have the option to invite friends into games, as well as the ability to see a list of recent players you have played with via Xbox Live.
Additionally, the Xbox One optical out will be supporting 5.1 Dolby Digital, a system that enables the device sound bar and headsets to receive Dolby 5.1 over optical out and Dolby Digital surround sound over HDMI, as well as a 50 HZ display for the live TV app in full and fill modes.
Other small fixes and general stability improvements within the update include easy sound bar setup, browser improvements, support for new Xbox One accessories, volume adjustments, and the ability to receive notifications through the Xbox One SmartGlass.
Launching on March 11th is the new Twitch app, an app designed to archive Twitch broadcasts and live Twitch streams by saying “Xbox broadcast.”
