(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Earlier this week, Yahoo announced that it had purchased Aviate, a home screen replacement for Android devices.
The $80 million acquisition will bring Yahoo users “smarter and more personalized” content, reports Tech Times.
“We hope to make Aviate a central part of our android-based experiences in 2014 (and beyond), and we are committed to continued innovation on the product,” stated Yahoo SVP of Mobile and Emerging Products, Adam Cahan.
“At Yahoo, we want to make everyone’s daily habits more inspiring and entertaining through beautiful, personalized, and innovative products.”
Although Aviate is still in its beta development stage, Yahoo is allowing 25,000 users test the app.
