(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Yep, Yahoo! is showing signs of life and it’s a big move for the company once thought to be falling behind. The tech giant’s websites recently topped Google in terms of U.S. web traffic for the month of July, at least according to a monthly report from comScore.
Yahoo! websites brought in 196,564,000 unique visitors while Google’s accounted for 192,251,000.
According to a report from Digital Trends, it marks the first time since May of 2011 that Yahoo! has topped Google on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile, other top web presences following both Yahoo! and Google include Microsoft websites, Facebook, AOL and Amazon.
And while Yahoo!’s rise is kind of a shocker, we can’t say we’re too surprised. The company’s been going over a big makeover (not to mention a number of new logos) since former Google exec Marissa Mayer came aboard as CEO last July. Yahoo! also recently acquired Tumblr, a move that could have also significantly helped its rise in internet traffic.
