Zelda Steals Starring Role from Link in Hacked Version

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – No, Zelda is not the star of Nintendo’s Zelda video game franchise. The actual star and playable character is sword yielding protagonist Link. However, that didn’t stop someone from recently changing things up.

According to a report from the Huffington Post, hobbyist animator Kenna W. was able to hack the original version of the game, instead making Zelda the main playable character.

“The game was fun [as a child], but I was bummed out that I never got to play as Zelda. But like I said, I’m an adult now. There’s no one to stop me from eating candy before bed and there’s nothing standing in the way of me creating the games I want to play,” she remarked via her blog.

She also described it as feeling “really good” to play the game’s much celebrated princess. Kenna took a few days of coding to revamp the classic title.
